What's better than fresh maple syrup? Let's be honest, nothing. However, a close second is enjoying other goodies made with Robinson's Maple Syrup! We wanted to include a few of our very favourite recipes to inspire you to enjoy our syrup in a multitude of ways. Bon Appétit!
MAPLE GLAZED TRAIL MIX Prep Time 10 min |
½ cup raw almonds
½ cup raw pecan halves
⅓ cup unsweetened coconut chips
¼ cup pepitas (hulled pumpkin seeds)
3 tablespoons maple syrup
⅛ teaspoon sea salt
¼ cup chocolate chips
¼ cup dried cherries
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 300F. In a medium bowl, mix the almonds, pecans, coconut chips, pepitas, maple syrup, and salt. Stir to evenly coat. Spread the mixture on a lined baking sheet.
Bake for 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool. Transfer trail mix to a clean bowl and add the chocolate chips and cherries. Store in an airtight container or to last longer keep in the fridge
MAPLE-GLAZED SAUSAGES Prep Time 5 min |
1-2 pounds uncooked pork breakfast sausages
1 cup maple syrup
1/3 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons salted butter
pinch cinnamon, nutmeg (optional)
DIRECTIONS
Place the pork sausages in a baking pan or dish. Mix the sauce ingredients, heating the butter to combine the brown sugar in properly. Pour the sauce over the sausages in the pan. Cook – uncovered – in the oven for 35-40 minutes, turning one or two times throughout the cooking process to ensure the sausages are well coated. Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes. Serve hot and with the sauce if desired.
OATMEAL CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIES Prep Time 10 min |

DIRECTIONS
Sift baking powder, flour and salt and set aside. Mash bananas and add beaten egg, milk, vegetable oil and maple syrup. Cook on lightly greased griddle on medium heat.
QUAKER STYLE CHEWY GRANOLA BARS Prep Time 15 min |
DIRECTIONS
Combine dry ingredients. Combine wet ingredients in separate bowl. Mix wet and dry ingredients together. Press into a 8x8 Pan. Bake at 350F for 18 minutes. Remove from oven and press again. Allow to cool prior to cutting.
CUMIN MAPLE SALMON Prep Time 5 min |
DIRECTIONS
Mix first all ingredients and brush over salmon. Can be cooked on BBQ, in oven or on a grill.
APPLE OR RHUBARB CRISP Prep Time 20 min |
5-6 cups sliced & peeled apples
1/2 cup rolled oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
2/3 cup maple syrup
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
DIRECTIONS
BROWNIE BAKED OATMEAL Prep Time 20 min |
2 cups coconut milk
½ cup maple syrup
⅓ cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups rolled oats
¼ cup cocoa
1 tsp baking powder
1 Tbsp flax
Pinch of salt
⅓ cup chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350°. Add all wet ingredients to a bowl, then add dry ingredients. Mix together, add chocolate chips. Mix again. Pour into 6x9 baking pan. Bake for 40 minutes.
HALLOWEEN CHEESE BALL Prep Time 15 min |
2 package cream cheese
1 cup shredded sharp cheddar
3 tbsp Robinson’s Maple Dip
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
Mix and roll in 1c sharp cheddar cheese. Wrap in Saran. Wrap 3 strings around ball to give pumpkin contours. Refrigerate for 2-3 hours. Top with pepper stem.
MAPLE FUDGE OLD FASHIONED Prep Time 15 min |
1 tsp maple butter (or to taste)
3 dashes Angostura bitters
2 strips orange peel
2 oz whisky
1 oz water
Maple fudge/candy for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Add maple butter, bitters, and one orange peel strip to a chilled old-fashioned glass. Muddle orange peel to release flavour. Fill the glass with ice. Add whisky and water, and stir well. Garnish with remaining orange peel and maple fudge/candy if desired.
MINT LEMONADE

3/4 cup lemon juice (5-6 lemons)
8 cups water
1/2 cup maple syrup
A few fresh mint leaves
DIRECTIONS
Stir the ingredients together and adjust for preferred sweetness. Serve over ice. This recipe is perfect for those warm summer days. Fresh lemonade with mint and no processed sugar. It is delicious, quick and easy!
MAPLE SCONES

4 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cream of tartar
8 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup sugar (I use maple stirred sugar)
Mix well then add…
1 cup shortening
Mix until crumbling then add
1 cup raisins
1 1/3 cup milk
DIRECTIONS
Mix quickly and roll lightly on a floured board to ½ inch thickness. Shape in a rectangle. Brush with butter or cream then sprinkle with maple stirred sugar. Cut into squares and then triangles. Bake 375 F for 15-20 minutes.
Nothing beats a scone topped with maple sugar! This scone recipe came from Bill’s grandmother Ella Johnston.
APPLE CRUMBLE PIE

1 (9 inch) pie shell
6 cups thinly sliced apples
1 tablespoon lemon juice (Optional)
¾ cup maple sugar
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
⅛ teaspoon ground nutmeg
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ cup maple sugar
3 tablespoons butter
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Place sliced apples in a large bowl; sprinkle with lemon juice, if desired. In a small bowl, mix together ¾ cup maple sugar, 2 tablespoons flour, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Sprinkle mixture over apples and toss until apple slices are evenly coated. Transfer mixture into pastry shell. In a small bowl, mix together 1/2 cup flour and ½ cup maple sugar. Cut in butter or margarine until mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle mixture over apple filling. Cover top loosely with aluminum foil. Bake in a preheated oven for 25 minutes. Remove foil and bake an additional 25 to 30 minutes, until top is golden brown and filling is bubbly. Cool on a wire rack.
NO BAKE PEANUT BUTTER BITES

1/2 cups old fashioned rolled oats
1/2 cup peanut butter
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/3 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
DIRECTIONS
Add all of the ingredients to a large bowl. Mix together until well incorporated. Cover and chill in a refrigerator for at least 30 minutes. Grab about a heaping tablespoon full of the mixture and press it into a ball with your palms OR press firmly in a cookie scoop. Repeat with the remaining oat mixture. Store in a sealed container in the refrigerator.
This recipe is perfect to get you through the weekend with no one getting hangry!
HOMEMADE STRAWBERRY SLUSHIE
Prep Time 5 min
Ready in 5 min Serves 2-3 |
3 cups of strawberries
2 tsp of maple syrup (more to taste)
2 cups of ice
DIRECTIONS
Mix in a blender and enjoy!
SANGRIA

Your favourite fruit
1 bottle wine
1.5 c cider
2 oz whiskey (was supposed to be bourbon)
Splash of spiced rum
2 oz maple syrup
DIRECTIONS
Combine, Stir, Chill and Enjoy!
KEVIN'S EGGNOG
|
½ cup maple syrup
1 ½ cups milk
1 cup heavy cream (or coconut cream)
⅓ cup brandy or bourbon
⅓ cup rum
1 teaspoon nutmeg
ground cinnamon or cinnamon sticks for garnish
DIRECTIONS
Add the eggs and maple syrup to a high-powered blender and blend for exactly 4 minutes on high speed. Make sure to use a timer. Add the milk, heavy cream, brandy, rum, and nutmeg. Blend for an additional 10 seconds just to combine. Pour the eggnog into an airtight container and refrigerate until it's chilled. When ready to serve, give the eggnog a stir before pouring. Then garnish with cinnamon sticks or a sprinkle of cinnamon on top.
MAPLE PUDDING CAKE

Sauce
1 1/4 cup cream (35%)
1 cup maple syrup
1/4 cup brown sugar
Cake
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp salt
6 tbsp sugar
1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 egg
6 tbsp milk
DIRECTIONS
With the rack in the middle position preheat to 350 F.
Sauce - In a small pot bring all of the ingredients to a boil while whisking. Simmer over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from the heat.
Cake - In a bowl combine the flour, baking powder and salt.
In another bowl, whisk together the sugar, oil, vanilla and egg with an electric mixer. With the machine running on low speed, add the dry ingredients alternating with the milk. Spread the batter out in an 8-inch square pan. Bake until toothpick poke comes out clean - approx 40 mins
Delicately pour the sauce over the cake once cooled.
